   |   | Cardiac Classroom The Liberty Science Center, Jersey City, NJ The Cardiac Classroom is an exhibit focusing on open heart surgery, surgical techniques and prevention of heart disease. Actual equipment, such as a heart-lung machine is displayed with stories relating to the critical part of the procedure when the patient’s heart is “hooked up” to the machine while valves and arteries are replaced. A glove box allows visitors to test their dexterity with real surgical tools. Inside a theater, a staff facilitated public program allows visitors and students the chance to view a weekly, live feed of a complete open heart surgical procedure from a local hospital. | ||||
